SKILLED NURSING SERVICES

Our dedicated staff offers a continuum of health care from the moment an individual is admitted until the day they leave. We believe our quality care and compassion enhances the lives of each individual. St. Olaf Residence has skilled nursing staff to provide:

SHORT-TERM REHABILIATION

Short-term rehabilitation services are offered six days a week through St. Olaf’s Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy staff.

Physical Therapy (P.T.) staff will work with you to improve your mobility and function as well as relieve pain. Residents are given individually designed exercise programs, as well as any assistive devices increase their independence.

Occupational Therapy (O.T.) staff assists residence in achieving their maximum level of function in activities of daily living. Occupational Therapy addresses physical, cognitive and functional impairments through exercise, education and adaptive equipment.

Speech Therapy (S.T) staff assists residence in managing disorders that affect a person's speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing. They work to improve their communication and swallowing abilities.

MEMORY CARE PROGRAM

The memory care program is designed to support residents in maintaining their individual level of wellness and independence. Staff members receive training to care for persons with memory loss and have a personal interest and sensitivity to meet their needs. Their consistent presence ensures quality care and a stable environment. Most residents have a room that they are encouraged to decorate with personal items. This helps them to maintain those important ties to the past and remind them of their social and family connections.

RESPITE & HOSPICE CARE PROGRAMS

Respite Care: Caring for a loved one with intensive medical needs is often difficult. St. Olaf offers respite care to provide a needed break for caregivers and to offer assistance if they need to go out of town. Length of stay is determined by your needs.

Hospice Care: Hospice care focuses on maximizing the comfort and quality of life for persons who are terminally ill. It is available to anyone with a life expectancy of six months or less and who wishes the goal of their care to be comfort and support.

Services are reimbursed by Medicare, Medical Assistance, most insurance companies and Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO’s).
